About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our dynamic Donor Relations & Field Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for generating and identifying leads, building a pipeline of potential donors, and ensuring the growth and maintenance of a high-quality, committed donor base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strong action plan supported by comprehensive data analysis and business development techniques to ensure the collection and donor base goals are being achieved.
  • Organize and conduct information sessions/recruitment presentations to specific target groups, based on research into the community and its demographics.
  • Find and engage with new donors through referrals, networking, and cold calling.
  • Manage senior client relationships within assigned territory and work with centre manager on key initiatives to keep relationships active.
  • Promote and enhance a positive public image of the plasma donor centre within the community through public speaking and media engagement opportunities.
  • Work closely with marketing and communications to develop a sales action plan to support business development and retention.
  • Manage, mentor, and direct donor centre staff on implementing sales strategies within the donor centre to exceed targets in assigned territory.
  • Business Development Manager will be required to step in to support the centre manager during their absence.
  • Build a pipeline of potential donors, maintaining relationships, and ensuring the growth and maintenance of high-quality, committed donor base.
  • Work in conjunction with the centre manager to foster an exceptional donor experience.
Requirements
  • Degree in marketing or business administration is preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales management experience.
  • A record of success closing opportunities and a strong desire to succeed.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills; comfortable public speaking to various size audiences.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and open to change.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in planning and executing media interviews is preferred.
  • Previous people management/supervisory experience is an asset.
