Job Summary

Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada is seeking a Part Time Intervenor to support individuals with dual sensory impairment in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support individuals with dual sensory impairment in their homes and communities, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
  • Use effective communication techniques to relay information and facilitate daily activities.
  • Empower individuals to participate in daily living tasks, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and house cleaning.
  • Provide personal care as required, including lifts and transfers, toileting, and medication administration.
  • Assist in developing and supporting individual goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to program development and ensure accurate documentation and records.
Requirements
  • Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or a related human services field.
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Communication skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
  • A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean current driver's abstract.
