Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Build client relationships through market research, communication, and proposal preparation.
  • Identify and pursue business opportunities in the marketplace, leveraging expertise to secure work assignments.
  • Promote Dillon's profile through conferences, workshops, webinars, and professional associations.
  • Collaborate with staff across Canada for project delivery, client relationships, and opportunity research.

Technical Development

  • Develop and execute environmental permitting and project approval programs, including research, fieldwork, and technical report writing.
  • Support the development of environmental assessments, registration documents, and compensation/offsetting plans.

Project Management & Design

  • Scope, plan, and implement field programs for various projects, demonstrating leadership and coordination skills.
  • Contribute to proposal development, budgeting, and client liaison.
  • Coordinate project team activities, providing direction and contributing to staff development.

Learning & Development

  • Continuously develop technical skills and business acumen, contributing to staff growth and development.
  • Support career development through technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoring.

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

  • A university degree or post-undergraduate diploma in a relevant environmental discipline.
  • Advanced degree preferred, with 8+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and proficiency in English, with working knowledge of French an asset.

Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations, and permitting requirements.
  • Experience with municipal government bylaws and policies related to land development and environmental protection.
  • Preparation of regulatory applications and submissions, with expertise in environmental and social science disciplines.
