Borea Construction is a dynamic company that generates positive energy by harnessing the power of the sun and wind. We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Legal Counsel to join our team and support our mission.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Support management and internal teams on commercial and contractual matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret contracts related to construction projects, including call for proposals, construction, procurement, engineering, financing, confidentiality, mortgage, notice of default or change, claims, etc.
  • Develop and update contract models and tools to facilitate contract management and understanding by internal teams.
  • Advise on legal requirements and risks, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Provide legal advice on dispute resolution and claims management, focusing on proactive and practical solutions.
  • Manage litigation and structuring projects for the organization.
  • Provide training to internal teams on legal matters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Laws and membership in a Canadian bar association; membership in a US bar association is an asset.
  • At least 7 years of experience in construction and/or business law, particularly in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and oral, and good communication and popularization skills.
  • Adaptability and ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and ensuring quality work and customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of or interest in the renewable energy, engineering, and/or construction industry.
