We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Evaluation Specialist to join our team at SSHRC.


About the Role


This is a senior leadership position that requires expertise in program evaluation, particularly in large-scale studies and projects related to SSHRC, NSERC, or interagency programs.


The successful candidate will lead working groups formed to oversee evaluations, ensuring high-quality outcomes that meet federal government policies and standards.


Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct and manage evaluations consistent with Federal Government policies related to evaluation
  • Utilize specialized evaluation techniques, both qualitative and quantitative
  • Analyze data, synthesize evaluation findings, and present them to clients
  • Develop evaluation frameworks that meet the needs of stakeholders

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you must have:



  • A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university; a Master's degree would be an asset
  • Specialization in public administration, economics, sociology, statistics, evaluation, or social research methods would be an asset
  • Significant experience conducting and managing evaluations (equivalent to three years or more)
  • Knowledge of program evaluation practice, including federal government performance measurement and evaluation policies/standards
  • Ability to work within tight timelines and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Salary and Benefits


The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a retirement savings plan.
