Our client is a well-established, third-generation family-owned business operating across Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. They are a recognized industry leader in the Oil and Gas, Energy, Utilities, Automotive, and Transportation sectors.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CPA with at least 10 years of post-qualification experience to join our client's growing team as a CFO/Controller. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for a long-term commitment to an established company with a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily accounting functions, including the preparation and presentation of monthly financial statements and reports to senior management and ownership.
  • Provide support to senior management and department heads to ensure smooth day-to-day company operations.
  • Lead and manage all financial and accounting processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assess the integrity of all financial transactions and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to streamline processes and improve financial controls.
  • Evaluate, implement, and enforce best practices in financial management and internal controls.
  • Work cross-functionally with various departments to support company-wide goals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings and payments.
  • Prepare annual working papers and liaise with external accountants for year-end processes.
  • Communicate with government departments to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • CPA designation with a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of guiding teams and streamlining financial operations.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make sound financial decisions based on data analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in both English and French.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office products, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in the fuel industry will be considered an asset.
