Job Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a Financial Operations Manager to join our team in Ottawa, Canada. As a key member of the operations leadership team, you will be responsible for driving effective prioritization and value achievement on investments required to deliver on critical operations strategies and Corporate funded initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic financial partnership and direction to the operations team, optimizing profit margins including complexity reduction, sourcing, productivity, overhead cost management, inventory risk management and capital optimization.
  • Support development and implementation of outstanding manufacturing strategies that will create clear advantage and improve customer experience.
  • Lead internal and external audit and work with management to develop remediation plans.
  • Ensure all finance controllership activities are carried out in compliance to policies and US GAAP.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant working experience in manufacturing finance.
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills, with attention to detail and consistently delivering high quality work.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and tight time demands.
  • Excellent skills with MS Excel, HFM, and SAP Production.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong team building skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
