Job Title: Landscape Worker

RTJ Landscaping is seeking a reliable and hardworking Landscape Worker to join our team. As a key member of our outdoor maintenance team, you will be responsible for assisting with landscape constructions, tying and securing plants, and performing various other tasks related to lawn care and gardening.

Work Environment

As a Landscape Worker, you will be working outdoors in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions. You will be required to handle heavy loads, work in a physically demanding role, and maintain attention to detail. You will also be working in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, as well as bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with landscape constructions, including planting, pruning, and trimming trees and plants.
  • Tie and secure plants to ensure stability and safety.
  • Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants to maintain a neat and tidy appearance.
  • Cut grass and perform other lawn care tasks as required.
  • Rake and collect refuse, and remove litter and garbage from the work site.
  • Cart and spread topsoil and other materials as needed.
  • Lay sod or seed, and plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
  • Apply fertilizers and water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and other tools.
  • Remove trees and other vegetation as required.
Requirements
  • Dependability and reliability are essential for this role.
  • You must be a team player and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Punctuality and a strong work ethic are required.
  • You must be able to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding role.
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination are necessary for this position.
  • You must be able to distinguish between colors and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling are also required.
Language and Work Term

The language of work is English or French, and the work term is permanent. The hours of work are 32 hours per week.

Please note that you must be legally able to work in Canada to be considered for this role.
