Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director of Environmental Services and Portering to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff and day-to-day operations to ensure all contractual service levels are met and maintained. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing staff and daily operations to ensure compliance with company standards and client expectations;
  • Completing financial reporting including payroll, period summaries, and sales reports in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Human Resource management including administrative tasks, personnel files, collective agreements, hiring, training, and discipline;
  • Maintaining budgetary controls, cost management, and inventory control;
  • Developing and maintaining a strong knowledge of resident preferences and incorporating these into service delivery; and
  • Implementing and managing the Quality Assurance program as outlined by the company and the client.
Responsibilities

The Executive Director of Environmental Services and Portering will be responsible for:

  1. Managing a team of staff to ensure that all areas of environmental services and portering are run efficiently and effectively;
  2. Coordinating with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services;
  3. Developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve efficiency and quality of services;
  4. Maintaining accurate records and reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement;
  5. Collaborating with colleagues to achieve company goals and objectives;
  6. Providing excellent customer service to residents, families, and visitors;
  7. Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements;
  8. Participating in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices;
  9. Supporting and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of two years previous management experience or equivalent supervisory role in a long-term healthcare setting;
  • Excellent leadership ability and customer service skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proficient with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • A proven track record of successfully managing teams and achieving results-driven outcomes;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
