About the Role

Kinark Child & Family Services is seeking a skilled Communications Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing communications plans to support our internal and external initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and recommend communication tactics to support internal and external communications
  • Strategically explore and implement innovative ways to communicate with employees
  • Write key messages and content for communication materials in all media formats
  • Consult and plan integrated strategic communication plans to support agency initiatives
  • Ensure communication tactics are aligned with Kinark's strategic plan and goals
  • Support communication-related reporting needs
  • Monitor and incorporate best practices and trends in communications planning, strategy, and measurement
  • Act as a subject matter expert in communications and provide expertise across the organization
Requirements
  • A minimum of three-year College level diploma in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
  • A minimum of three years of corporate communications experience in fast-paced environments
  • Experience working in a large-scale organization, public sector experience preferred
  • A strong writer and editor, specifically in preparing engaging content for various audiences
  • Experience creating communications plans and strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with Microsoft Office tools and design tools
  • High degree of collaboration and the ability to influence to achieve program/project objectives
  • Ability to work flexibly to tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all levels
