Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our team in Nova Scotia on a permanent full-time basis. As an Account Executive, you'll be responsible for selling commercial insurance policies, developing and maintaining a prospect list, building and maintaining excellent customer relationships, and staying up-to-date on market knowledge, products, and pricing issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell commercial insurance policies to new and existing customers
  • Develop and maintain a prospect list to identify new business opportunities
  • Build and maintain excellent customer relationships through regular communication and site visits
  • Stay up-to-date on market knowledge, products, and pricing issues to provide expert advice to customers
  • Prepare proposals and arrange for account placement with insurance carriers
  • Gather and document relevant information to ensure customers receive the appropriate coverage and service
  • Maintain a high-quality book of business by adhering to underwriting rules and good business practices
  • Arrange payment terms for new business sales and collect payments in a timely manner
  • Support customers with the claims process

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent
  • Excellent customer service and sales skills
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with pressure and deadlines
  • Able to work individually and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • 5-7+ years of industry, sales, and customer service experience
  • Commitment to continual learning, such as CIP or CAIB designation
