About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Registered Nurse in one of our acute inpatient areas. In this role, you will have the chance to work with patients from diverse backgrounds, assessing their needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with families and caregivers to achieve optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities- You will assess patients and collect information from various sources using your observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment skills to identify potential health issues and develop effective care plans.
- You will collaborate with patients and their families/caregivers to establish clear goals and priorities for their care, ensuring that their needs are met and they receive the best possible support.
- You will participate in the care and discharge planning process, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive care and are prepared for a smooth transition to the next stage of their care journey.
- You will coordinate nursing care for patients, setting priorities, assigning and delegating tasks to support staff, and making referrals to other healthcare professionals as needed.
- You will work collaboratively with members of the interprofessional care team to identify and resolve issues, adjust care plans as required, and address changes in patient condition.
- You will educate patients and families/caregivers about health promotion, disease prevention, and management strategies to empower them to take control of their health.
- You will document assessments, care plans, interventions, patient/family responses, outcomes/evaluations, and referrals according to established standards and guidelines.
- You must be a graduate of an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families/caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
- You must be able to complete initial and ongoing patient assessments and provide nursing care through appropriate interventions.
- You must be able to promote person-centered care, integrating and evaluating data from multiple sources to problem-solve effectively.
- You must be able to operate related equipment, including relevant computer applications.
We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, opportunities for professional growth and development, and a supportive work environment.
