About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in an emergency department. As a Nurse Care Specialist, you will provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, collect data from various sources, and make informed nursing diagnoses.
  2. Collaborate with patients and their families/caregivers to develop individualized care plans, promoting person-centered care and patient autonomy.
  3. Coordinate nursing care, prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and make referrals as necessary, ensuring effective care delivery.
  4. Communicate effectively with the interprofessional care team, including physicians, LPNs, patient care coordinators, and other healthcare professionals.
  5. Provide education and support to patients and families/caregivers on illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance.
  6. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and education programs to enhance patient care and professional growth.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework in emergency or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in emergency care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong commitment to person-centered care, patient advocacy, and cultural sensitivity.
