Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Langley Memorial Hospital in Langley, BC. The successful candidate will provide high-quality speech language pathology services to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders.

About the Role

This is a Casual position with flexible scheduling, allowing for a great work-life balance. As a Speech Language Pathologist with Fraser Health, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and contribute to the development of innovative care programs.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' communication and swallowing abilities, identifying areas of strength and weakness.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and collaboration with interprofessional teams.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting effective communication and swallowing strategies.
  • Promote continuity of care by collaborating with healthcare professionals and community agencies to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Evaluate and document the effectiveness of interventions, using standardized measures and ongoing assessment.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • Current registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHBC).
  • A Master's degree or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use relevant software applications and equipment, including speech-generating devices and swallowing assessment tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in speech-language pathology theory and practice, with knowledge of current research and best practices.
