Capital Services Director

Communitech is seeking a seasoned Capital Services Director to lead our Capital Programs strategy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy that aligns with our goals and objectives of supporting founders to raise capital.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a Capital Programs strategy that supports founders in raising capital.
- Attract and encourage investor activity in Waterloo Region.
- Sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating investment opportunities across a diverse range of industries and stages.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on companies we are supporting with introductions.
- Build and maintain relationships with founders, venture capitalists, angel investors, debt providers, and other key stakeholders within the innovation ecosystem.
- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to founder companies.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to inform investment decisions.
- Provide pitch feedback and PitchBook reports for founders.
- Mentorship and coaching of team members.
- Represent Communitech at events and conferences.
- Proven track record of success in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or a related field.
- Strong network and reputation within the investment community.
- Deep understanding of startup ecosystems, venture capital trends, and investment best practices.
- Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for innovation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
