About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Specialist to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As an Accounting Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing our financial reporting processes, working closely with various departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end internal reporting, collaborating with finance teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Prepare underwriting results and expense forecasts, analyzing data to inform business decisions.
  • Work closely with the actuarial team to analyze underwriting results and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support business units in tracking their workflow, providing timely and accurate financial information.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve financial systems and accounting processes, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement controls to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
  • Make recommendations to management based on your expertise, driving business growth and improvement.

Requirements

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience with Power BI, VBA, and Smartview.
  • At least three to five years of relevant experience in accounting, IFRS accounting standards, and finance.
  • Fast learning, agility, and adaptability to change.
  • Discipline, autonomy, and professionalism.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization, including management and external stakeholders.
  • Bilingualism (French-English).
  • No Canadian work experience required; however, you must be eligible to work in Canada.
