Job Title: Manager of Waterworks

Job Summary:

The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced operational manager to lead its Waterworks Section of the Public Works Division. The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge and extensive field experience in the functionality of municipal pressurized piped systems, including the engineering principles behind their operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a diverse team of unionized operators and staff in delivering maintenance and operational plans
  • Deploy multiple construction crews for capital construction and development servicing
  • Oversee the District's SCADA system and meter reading services
  • Provide expert technical advice and effective leadership in operations and occupational health and safety

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
  • Registration as an AScT with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC)
  • Minimum six years of progressive managerial or supervisory experience in the field of potable water systems management, maintenance, and construction
  • Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's Licence
  • Personal vehicle available for use as and when required
