Waterworks Operations Manager

Job Summary:
The District of Saanich is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Waterworks Operations Manager to lead its Waterworks Section of the Public Works Division. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong understanding of municipal pressurized piped systems, as well as excellent technical and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a diverse team of unionized operators and staff in delivering maintenance and operational plans
- Deploy multiple construction crews for capital construction and development servicing
- Oversee the District's SCADA system and meter reading services
- Provide expert technical advice and effective leadership in operations and occupational health and safety
Requirements:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
- Registration as an AScT with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC)
- Minimum six years of progressive managerial or supervisory experience in the field of potable water systems management, maintenance and construction
- Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Personal vehicle available for use as and when required
