Job Summary:
The District of Saanich is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Waterworks Operations Manager to lead its Waterworks Section of the Public Works Division. As a key member of the Public Works Management Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of potable water supply to District customers through well-maintained assets, including kilometers of pipes, reservoirs, pump stations, and pressure reducing valve stations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a diverse team of unionized operators and staff in delivering maintenance and operational plans
- Deploy multiple construction crews for capital construction and development servicing
- Oversee the District's SCADA system and meter reading services
- Provide expert technical advice and effective leadership in operations and occupational health and safety
Requirements:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
- Registration as an AScT with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC)
- Minimum six years of progressive managerial or supervisory experience in potable water systems management, maintenance, and construction
- Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Personal vehicle available for use as and when required
