Job Summary:
The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced operational leader to manage its Waterworks Section of the Public Works Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a diverse team of unionized operators and staff in delivering maintenance and operational plans, deploying construction crews, and overseeing the District's SCADA system and meter reading services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of unionized operators and staff in delivering maintenance and operational plans
- Deploy multiple construction crews for capital construction and development servicing
- Oversee the District's SCADA system and meter reading services
- Provide expert technical advice and leadership in operations and occupational health and safety
- Ensure that field operations meet the requirements for the District's Operating Permit
Requirements:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
- Registration as an AScT with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC)
- Minimum six years of progressive managerial or supervisory experience in the field of potable water systems management, maintenance, and construction
- Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Personal vehicle available for use as and when required
- ECOP Level 3 (or higher) certification considered an asset
