Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Estate and Trust Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our advisors to deliver estate planning services and other trust solutions to high net worth clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Scotia Wealth Management advisors to meet with clients and prospects, creating a positive experience for both parties.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with clients, partners, and centres of influence through effective networking and business development opportunities.
  • Play a key risk management role by ensuring that actions and behaviors drive a positive client experience while operating within relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Contribute to the effective functioning of the team by building effective working relationships, coaching and mentoring colleagues, and facilitating open communication.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Create an environment where the team pursues effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles.
Requirements:
  • Background and experience in estate, trust, or financial planning, with 3 years wealth planning experience.
  • In-depth experience dealing with high net worth clients and their advisors.
  • In-depth knowledge and technical proficiency related to wealth and estate planning strategies such as insurance, tax, family and charity law, and business succession.
  • University degree in law is an asset.
  • Lawyer or notary with experience in wills and estate planning is an asset.
  • Membership of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) or Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation is an asset.
Location

The successful candidate may reside in Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax, or Moncton.

Salary Range

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
