Key Responsibilities

As a Scotiabank Estate and Trust Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality estate planning services and solutions to High Net Worth (HNW) Scotia Wealth Management clients. This will involve partnering with Scotiabank and Scotia Wealth Management advisors to meet with HNW clients and prospects, creating a positive experience for the client and the advisor, and adding value by providing estate and trust solutions.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with clients, partners, and centres of influence through networking and other business development opportunities.
  • Play a key risk management role by being responsible and accountable for always doing the right thing for clients and ensuring that actions and behaviours drive a positive client experience.
  • Contribute to the effective functioning of the team by building effective working relationships with various business lines and corporate function contacts, coaching and mentoring Associate Estate and Trust Consultants, and facilitating a culture of open and honest communication.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Create an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a background and experience in estate, trust, or financial planning, as well as a minimum of 3 years of wealth planning experience. You will also need to have in-depth experience dealing with HNW clients and their advisors, as well as in-depth knowledge and technical proficiency related to wealth and estate planning strategies such as insurance, tax, family and charity law, and business succession.

You will also need to have a university degree in law, and/or be a lawyer or notary with experience in wills and estate planning. Membership of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and/or the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation is also an asset.

Location

The successful candidate may reside in either Ottawa, Kingston, or Halifax.
