About the Role

Zavida Coffee Roasters is seeking a highly skilled Key Account Manager to lead relationships primarily in the Grocery-Retail Channel. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for delivering customer sales volume, margin, share, and related KPIs with their respective customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Nurture Customer Relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for key customers, providing ongoing support, guidance, and ultimate resolution of issues to maintain high levels of client satisfaction and execute joint business plans.
  • Manage Broker and Agent Relationships: Develop and maintain effective relationships with 3rd party brokers/agents/business partners to drive business growth and retention.
  • Deliver Sales and Promo Plans: Develop and execute annual sales, promo plans, and trade spend plans to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Develop Sales Presentations and Account Plans: Create sales presentations and account plans that outline strategies for growth, retention, and upselling opportunities for key accounts.
  • Negotiate Contract Terms: Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and service-level agreements to maximize value for both the customer and the company in conjunction with company goals.
  • Communicate with Internal Teams: Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams to ensure seamless execution of business plans.
  • Identify Strategic Selling Opportunities: Collaborate with internal teams to identify and address strategic selling opportunities to deliver annual volume & profit plans.
  • Provide Forecasts and Analysis: Provide forecasts for a portfolio of customers and participate in the S&OP process with the internal team.
  • Leverage Insights and Data: Leverage insights and data to craft stories and unlock profitable volume on business.
  • Maximize Trade Spend ROI: Leverage trade spend to maximize return on investment (ROI).
  • Prospect for New Customers: Prospect for new customers and qualify against company criteria.
  • Build Business Cases and Costing Analysis: Build business cases and costing analysis to support sales strategies.
  • Prepare Regular Reports: Prepare regular reports of progress and analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in Trade Shows: Participate in trade shows (local and away) to drive business growth and retention.
Requirements
  • Bilingualism: Bilingual (French & English) is a requirement.
  • Education: University degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of customer management, general sales, marketing, and distribution experience in a fast-paced, high-performance consumer packaged goods environment (Grocery & Retail in Canada) is recommended.
  • Leadership and Analytical Skills: Ability to understand and develop strategic direction and plans that will drive results.
  • Communication and Influencing Skills: Strong influencing and communication skills (both internal and external).
  • Customer Management and Negotiation Skills: Strong customer management relationship and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical Capabilities: Strong analytic capabilities with the ability to utilize data to support strategies and decisions.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Problem-solving skills.
  • Market Knowledge: Customer and Quebec/Canadian Market knowledge is required, and coffee category knowledge is a distinct advantage.
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel will be required.
