Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Glazier Helper to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will assist our experienced glaziers in various aspects of glass installation, fabrication, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist glaziers in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications to determine glass type, thickness, and installation procedures.
  • Load and unload materials, and move them to work areas as needed.
  • Help with measuring, marking, and cutting glass using glass cutters or computerized cutters under the guidance of a journeyman glazier.
  • Remove and dispose of debris at installation sites.
  • Assist with assembling and dismantling scaffolds, rigging, and hoisting equipment.
  • Transport, lift, and position glass panes to the correct location for installation.
  • Assemble and assist glaziers with lifting and installing prefabricated glass, mirrors, or glass products on walls, ceilings, or exteriors of buildings.
  • Bring necessary materials to site for fabrication of metal frames for glass installation when required.
  • Support glaziers with various tasks, including lifting, holding, installing, fitting, measuring, and fabricating to attach to architectural metals or related substitute products in commercial and residential buildings.
  • Assist with the installation of pre-cut mirrors and opaque and transparent glass panels in frames to form exterior walls of buildings.
  • Assist with removal or repairs of serviced residential windows, commercial aluminum doors, and other glass supporting structures, and replace damaged glass or faulty sealant as directed by the journeyman glazier.
Requirements
  • Punctuality and attention to detail are essential.
  • Able to lift and hold 100 lbs repeatedly.
  • Take direction from supervising journeyman glaziers.
  • Personable and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Not afraid of heights.
  • Driver's license is an asset.
  • Will work in all weather conditions.
  • Out-of-town work is required in Saskatchewan.
