Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Truck Drivers Supervisor to join our team at Canadian Flatbeds Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our truck drivers and ensuring the smooth execution of our logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of 11-15 truck drivers
    • Provide technical guidance and support to drivers to improve productivity and product quality
  • Training and Development
    • Develop and implement training programs for drivers to enhance their skills and knowledge
    • Arrange for training and development opportunities to ensure drivers are equipped with the latest industry knowledge
  • Operations Management
    • Coordinate and schedule activities to ensure efficient use of resources
    • Monitor and control the flow of goods and materials to meet customer demands
  • Health and Safety
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards
    • Develop and implement safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment
  • Personnel Management
    • Recommend personnel actions to management, including promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions
    • Co-ordinate repairs and rentals of equipment and vehicles
  • Logistics and Supply Chain
    • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed
    • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience
    • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the trucking industry
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
    • Organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Team player with a strong work ethic
