About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Assistant Catering Manager to join our team at Carleton University. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for the management and execution of daily catering events and functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are met
  • Support the Catering Manager at client meetings to determine floor plans, rentals, and staffing
  • Execute functions and resolve customer concerns in a timely manner
  • Support meetings with the Catering Chef to plan menus for clients and special events
  • Recruit and train staff, conduct performance reviews, and manage staff performance
  • Manage inventory, cash handling, and vehicle inspection reports
  • Ensure adherence to Aramark's policies and procedures, as well as Health and Safety Programs
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require a diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent work experience, management experience, and Smart Serve certification. You will also need a valid driver's license and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

As a strong communicator with excellent customer service skills, you will be able to multitask, prioritize, and provide direction to the team. You will also be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
