The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Research Assistant to join our Menstrual Cycle Research Group at Douglas College. The successful candidate will assist with revising and generating new communications materials for our webpage, including copy for the homepage and content for an additional website page featuring courses and course work that connect to the social and political aspects of the menstrual cycle.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with revising copy for the homepage
  • Gather content for an additional website page featuring courses and course work at Douglas College that connect to the social and political aspects of the menstrual cycle
  • Promote the new webpage at an upcoming public event
Requirements
  • Be a Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology student
  • Be proficient with MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Have effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Have strong organizational skills and project-management experience
  • Previous web page design experience is an asset, but not required
Eligibility Criteria

Domestic students must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible to work as a Student Assistant/Student Research Assistant:

  • Be enrolled in, and maintain, a minimum of one or more (3 credit) courses at Douglas College throughout the work term
  • Have been enrolled in, and maintained, a minimum of one or more (3 credit) courses at Douglas College in the term immediately preceding the work term and have indicated an intention to enroll at the college in the term immediately following the work term
  • Be enrolled in, and maintain, a minimum of two or more (3 credit) courses at another accredited public post-secondary institution in British Columbia throughout the work term
  • Have been enrolled in, and maintained, a minimum of two or more (3 credit) courses at another accredited public post-secondary institution in B.C. in the term immediately preceding the work term and have indicated an intention to enroll at the institution in the term immediately following the work term

International students must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible to work as a Student Assistant/Student Research Assistant:

  • Be enrolled in full-time studies at Douglas College, throughout the academic year
  • Be an international student at another accredited public post-secondary institution in B.C. with a valid Study Permit that has the notation – "May accept employment on or off campus if meeting eligibility criteria as per R186 (F), (V) or (W). Must cease working if no longer meeting these criteria."
