About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to lead research and analysis for our organization. As a key member of our team, you will provide guidance on best practices, metric methodology, and predictive modeling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct advanced research and analysis to inform senior leadership and operational business units.
  • Develop and implement research approaches and present results to stakeholders.
  • Research or provide data for external requests, ensuring adherence to WCB policies and privacy legislation.
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Senior Executive and the Board of Directors.
  • Forecast and trend WCB KPIs and external factors.
  • Proactively identify new areas of opportunity or risk through analysis and research.
  • Develop analytical and predictive models to enhance operational business unit performance.
  • Act as a thought leader on research and analysis techniques.
  • Establish guidelines and standards for data quality.
  • Identify new datasets and define new dimensions in the database model.
  • Provide recommendations for enhancements and improvements to the Data Warehouse.
Qualifications:
  • Doctoral Degree in a relevant field such as Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum seven (7) years directly related experience in research or evaluating programs.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse design and functionality.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of software such as Excel and Python programming language.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Advanced abilities in quantitative and qualitative evaluation research and program evaluation.
  • Superior technical and writing skills.
  • Excellent oral communication, facilitation/mediation, and public speaking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage projects.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Additional Information:
  • The estimated salary for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 per year.
