Job Title: Childcare Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and caring Childcare Assistant to join our team at KKetchum Consulting. As a Childcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare programs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. This includes developing and implementing child-care programs, maintaining daycare equipment, and engaging children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Maintain daycare equipment and ensure a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
  • Perform light cleaning duties and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements:
  • High Five training (principles of healthy child development)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Child Abuse Registry check
  • Immunization records
  • Vulnerable sector check
Working Conditions:

This is a physically demanding role that requires a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask effectively.
