Job Title: Childcare Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and caring Childcare Assistant to join our team at KKetchum Consulting. As a Childcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare programs.

Job Summary:

The Childcare Assistant will assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. This includes developing and implementing child-care programs, maintaining daycare equipment, and engaging children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Maintain daycare equipment and ensure a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Encourage children to express creativity through various activities.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants.
  • Perform light cleaning duties.
Requirements:
  • High Five training (principles of healthy child development)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Child Abuse Registry check
  • Immunization records
  • Vulnerable sector check
Working Conditions:

The Childcare Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling. The ability to multitask and work effectively in a team is essential.
