Job Title: Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Driver to join our team at Peoples Trucking Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently across various locations. This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transportation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Logistics: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle operations.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Cargo Security: Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo.
Requirements:
  • Certifications: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Documentation: Accurate completion of accident or incident reports, driver logbook, inspection reports, maintenance and repair reports, and trip reports.
  • Physical Demands: Handling heavy loads, physically demanding, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Judgement, organized, reliability, and team player.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience: An asset.
  • Green Job: Involves duties and responsibilities that lead to positive environmental outcomes.
