We're seeking a skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance with employment standards and taxation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management: Prepare and process payrolls on a bi-weekly and year-end basis, including T4s, pension, benefits, and leave administration.
  • Benefits Administration: Administer employer-provided benefits, ensuring accurate records are kept and all deadlines are met.
  • Employee Inquiries: Handle employee inquiries regarding compensation and benefits, providing clear and effective communication.
  • Pension Plan Financial Statements: Prepare financial statements for the Pension Plan.
  • Research and Development: Research new legislation, benefit products, and software applications as necessary.
  • Support HR: Provide support to the Human Resources department with tasks and project work as required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School diploma combined with a certificate or diploma in payroll and/or benefits.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll, with strong skills in MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and procedures, pensions, benefits, employment standards, taxation regulations, computer-based attendance and payroll systems, and online time-entry systems.
  • Fantastic detail-orientation skills, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, manage multiple tasks and deadlines despite interruptions.
