Abstract Developments is a leading construction company that specializes in delivering high-quality residential projects. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Foreman to join our team.

Job Summary

The Construction Foreman will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the construction activities of our projects. This includes leading and managing a team of construction workers, ensuring timely completion of projects, and maintaining high-quality standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Plan and coordinate construction activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and task delegation to meet project timelines.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of construction workers, including carpenters, masons, electricians, and other tradespeople.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that construction work adheres to building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a culture of safety on construction sites, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and protocols.
  • Communication and Reporting: Maintain effective communication channels with project stakeholders, including project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a construction foreman or similar role in residential wood framing, concrete form work, finishing, or general carpentry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials.
  • Computer literacy for field/office communication – Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project, Procore, Jonas, and Blue Beam are considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address construction challenges and find effective solutions.
