About the Role

Zurich Insurance Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced AVP, Liability National Accounts Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our National Accounts team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with broker partners and customers across all industries in support of National Accounts Casualty business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with broker partners and customers to drive business growth and retention.
  • Leverage your casualty underwriting expertise to assess risk, evaluate exposure, and price policies to generate and maintain a profitable book of new and renewal business.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary, and technical underwriting, to gain a deep understanding of the industry and stay up-to-date on market trends.
  • Empower your market-facing, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to grow and develop relationships with preferred distribution partners.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, and 7 or more years of experience in claims, underwriting, or market-facing areas.
  • OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in underwriting or market-facing areas.
  • OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 12 or more years of experience in claims or underwriting support areas.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Expert technical knowledge of Liability National Account Underwriting.
  • Established broker relationships within the Greater Toronto area and/or across Canada.
  • Sales execution mindset.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
