About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, assigning tasks, and providing training to ensure employees have the necessary skills to excel in their roles. They will also be tasked with ordering merchandise, authorizing returns, establishing work schedules, and preparing reports on sales volumes and personnel matters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising staff, including apprentices, sales workers, and design team members
  • Assigning tasks and duties to optimize efficiency and productivity
  • Teaching interest or professional development courses to enhance employee knowledge and skills
  • Ordering merchandise and ensuring adequate inventory levels
  • Authorizing return of merchandise and resolving customer complaints
  • Establishing work schedules and ensuring fair distribution of tasks among staff
  • Selling merchandise and maintaining a strong sales presence
  • Preparing reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters
  • Resolving issues that may arise, including supply shortages and customer requests
  • Supervising office and volunteer staff to ensure seamless operation of the store
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in retail management. Alternatively, they may possess equivalent experience in a related field.

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff to achieve high standards. They should also be proficient in using technology to manage sales data and other business functions.

A competitive salary of $50,000 per annum is offered, commensurate with experience. In addition to a base salary, successful candidates can expect benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
