At the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka, we're seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Supply RECE to join our team of early childhood educators. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment that fosters healthy, strong, and connected communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional personal care to children, including toileting, first aid, and medication administration.
  • Engage with children in a group setting, ensuring their safety and supervision at all times.
  • Plan and implement play-based learning in accordance with the YMCA Curriculum.
  • Communicate effectively with families, staff, and volunteers to ensure a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Support children with exceptional behaviors and additional needs, promoting their growth and development.
  • Adhere to work schedules, ensuring program ratios are maintained and adequate notice is given for scheduling changes.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with routines and schedules to meet the needs of our children and families.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification or completion within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Up-to-date immunizations or equivalent in accordance with local public health and Child Care Early Years Act.
  • Availability requirements: minimum of 2 full days per week (7:00am-6pm both days) or 2 mornings (7:00-9:30am) and 2 afternoons (2:30-6pm).
  • Passion for working with children and providing quality play-based learning.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills with families, staff, and volunteers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), and participate in physical activities.
  • Ability to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily, year-round, in all weather conditions.
  • Early Childhood Education Diploma.
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) or be willing to obtain registration.
