Physiotherapist Opportunity in Ambulatory Services

Baycrest Hospital is seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our Ambulatory Programs team. This is a casual position that offers flexibility and variety in a dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our inter-professional team to provide high-quality care to patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics, day hospitals, and community programs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments and developing individualized care plans
  • Providing evidence-based treatment interventions and discharge planning
  • Participating in the teaching and mentoring of physiotherapy students
  • Assigning patient plans of care and supervising physiotherapy assistants
  • Collaborating with the inter-professional team to implement client-focused care plans and coordinate discharge planning
  • Providing support and consultation to other disciplines on the team

Qualifications include:

  • Licensure in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (an asset)
  • Experience working with geriatric populations with multiple medical conditions and/or cognitive impairment (preferred)
  • Confirmed status as ADP authorizer required
  • Expertise in clinical assessments of elderly clients
  • Ability to lead groups and plan/executing knowledge translation/adult learning sessions
  • Experience in providing clinical instruction and teaching to physiotherapy students (an asset)
  • Previous experience and/or interest in developing evidence-based programs (an asset)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Access to transportation (e.g., current driver's license and car) required
  • Proficient computer skills – Meditech, MDS, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required
