Job Title: Casual Physiotherapist, Ambulatory Program

Baycrest is seeking a Casual Physiotherapist to join our Ambulatory Program team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality physiotherapy services to our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide treatment interventions to patients with complex geriatric, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Participate in the teaching and mentoring of physiotherapy and physiotherapy assistant students, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Assign patient care plans, provide direction, supervision, and monitoring of physiotherapy assistants, ensuring seamless care delivery.
  • Collaborate with the inter-professional team to implement client-focused care plans, coordinate discharge planning, and ensure a smooth transition of care.
  • Provide consultation and support to other disciplines on the team, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Assign tasks to OTA/PTA when appropriate, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Embody a systematic, evidence-based approach to client care, program development, and evaluation, working closely with inter-professional team members, volunteers, and the Physiotherapy clinical team.
Qualifications:
  • Licensure in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (an asset).
  • Experience working with geriatric populations with multiple medical conditions and/or cognitive impairment (preferred).
  • Confirmed status as ADP authorizer required.
  • Expertise in clinical assessments of elderly clients.
  • Ability to lead groups and plan/executes knowledge translation/adult learning sessions with clients, caregivers, family members, and inter-professional team members.
  • Experience in providing clinical instruction and teaching to physiotherapy students (an asset).
  • Previous experience and/or interest in developing evidence-based programs (an asset).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Access to transportation (e.g., current driver's license and car) required.
  • Proficient computer skills – Meditech, MDS, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.
