Main Gate Attendant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Main Gate Attendant to join our team at Auto Warehousing Company Canada. As a Main Gate Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of traffic entering and leaving our premises.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Check vehicles leaving the yard and open trunks as necessary
  • Direct visitors to the correct parking areas
  • Assist lost pedestrians and provide directions
  • Report any suspicious activity to the on-duty supervisor
  • Follow established protocols in the event of vehicle theft
  • Receive and process road-pull tickets and vehicle travelers
  • Enter data into a log sheet and input it into the computer system
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries via phone, email, and in-person
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide back-up support to the Operations Supervisor, including directing the production team and performing general administration tasks
  • Assist with payroll, timekeeping, and human resources inquiries
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of vocational/college education in a relevant field
  • 1 year of data entry experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new computer systems and software
  • Knowledge of payroll and/or timekeeping systems is an asset
  • Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Active Standard First Aid CPR A + AED certification
  • Successful credit and criminal record check
  • Ability to pass a third-party pre-employment medical assessment
Working Conditions:
  • Work indoors in a small building or office setting, or outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Manual dexterity required for computer use and peripherals
  • Fast-paced work environment
  • Tight spaces and working at heights
  • Personal Protective Equipment provided
Physical Requirements:
  • Good balance and physical stamina
  • Lift up to 50 lbs, push, pull, or carry
  • Stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, grip
  • Ability to get in and out of vehicles
  • Good visual ability
