Main Gate Attendant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Main Gate Attendant to join our team at Auto Warehousing Company Canada. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of traffic entering and leaving our premises.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct visitors to designated parking areas and re-direct pedestrians who are lost or seeking directions.
  • Check vehicles leaving the yard and open trunks as necessary.
  • Report any suspicious activity to the on-duty supervisor and follow established protocols in the event of vehicle theft.
  • Receive and process road-pull tickets and vehicle traveler documents from haul-away drivers.
  • Enter data into a log sheet and input information into our computer system.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries via phone, email, and in-person.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide back-up support to the Operations Supervisor, including directing daily activities, general administration, and payroll processing.
  • Assist with front-line support for payroll, benefits, and human resources inquiries.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of vocational/college education in a relevant field.
  • 1 year of data entry experience and intermediate proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new computer systems and software programs.
  • Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record and active Standard First Aid CPR A + AED certification.
  • Successful credit and criminal record check required.
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a small office setting and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Manual dexterity required for computer use and talking on the phone.
  • Fast-paced work environment with occasional tight spaces and heights up to 15 feet.
Physical Requirements:
  • Good balance and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and grip.
  • Ability to get in and out of vehicles with minimal door clearance.
