Gate Attendant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Main Gate Attendant to join our team at Auto Warehousing Company Canada. As a Main Gate Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic entering and leaving our premises.

Key Responsibilities:

• Check vehicles leaving the yard and open trunks where necessary
• Direct visitors to the proper parking areas in the yard
• Re-direct pedestrians who are lost and asking for directions
• Report any suspicious activity happening on the premises to the on-duty supervisor
• Follow established protocol in the event of any vehicle theft
• Receive road-pull tickets and vehicle travelers from haul-away drivers leaving the yard
• Enter data from the pull ticket onto a log sheet
• Input the data into the computer
• Respond to internal and external inquiries

Additional Responsibilities:

• Provide back-up to the Operations Supervisor as needed
• Direct the day-to-day activities of the production team
• General administration supporting the office, such as invoicing, reporting, and office supplies
• Payroll and time keeping for the production team
• Provide front line support for payroll, benefits, and human resources questions or concerns

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of vocational/college education in a relevant area of study
• Minimum 1 year data entry experience
• Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Experience learning and adapting to new computer systems and software programs
• Knowledge of payroll and/or time keeping systems is an asset
• Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles
• Valid G driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Active Standard First Aid CPR A + AED
• Successful credit and criminal record check are required
• Ability to pass a third-party pre-employment medical assessment

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed indoors in a small heated/air-conditioned building or in an office setting as well as outside with exposure to all types of weather conditions
• Working at a computer terminal and desk; manual dexterity is required to use desktop computer and peripherals; talking on the phone
• Work at a fast pace
• Work in tight spaces
• Working at a height of approximately 15 ft. above ground
• Personal Protective Equipment provided includes coveralls, kneepads, and coveralls

Physical Requirements:

• Good sense of balance
• Lift (including above head), push, pull, or carry up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, grip
• Ability to get in/out of vehicles driver side door with minimal door opening clearance
• Good visual ability
