About the Opportunity

This permanent, full-time position offers a competitive salary of $37.29 - $45.40 hourly, with opportunities for professional growth and development. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will work collaboratively with pathologists and medical laboratory technologists to provide high-quality diagnostic services.

The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, leadership abilities, and technical expertise. With a strong background in anatomy, physiology, histology, pathology, and medical terminology, you will be able to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and clients.

Responsibilities
  • Assist pathologists in the assessment of surgically removed tissues
  • Provide expertise in grossing and autopsy prosection
  • Collaborate with medical laboratory technologists to ensure high-quality diagnostic services
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses
Requirements
  • Certified as a Pathology Assistant by the Canadian Certification Council of Pathologists' Assistants or by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification
  • Graduate of an approved MSc Pathologist Assistant program preferred
  • Experience with Cerner LIS preferred
  • Experience with Dragon, an asset
  • Strong customer service skills, leadership abilities, and technical expertise
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
