We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Imaging Team Lead to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Job Description

The Diagnostic Imaging Team Lead will be responsible for organizing and supervising the daily operations within our diagnostic imaging modalities. They will effectively communicate and collaborate with other departments to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective clinical operations on a day-to-day basis;
  • Coordinate and support scheduling of patient exams in DI CT and DI IR to prioritize patient needs;
  • Responsible for timekeeping, payroll, ordering supplies, resolving staff issues, staff scheduling, collecting workload data as required for statistics;
  • Collaborate and consult with DI management to identify issues impacting clinical care;
  • Evaluate workflow methods and procedures to improve workflow efficiency.
Responsibilities
  • Act as a clinical/technical resource for staff regarding patient and family care issues;
  • Work closely with other DI Team Leads to provide an integrated service delivery model encouraging cross-training of technologists;
  • Identify clinical issues requiring staff education and consult with DI management before collaborating with appropriate individuals to address learning needs;
  • Ensure optimal equipment performance by overseeing quality control activities and engaging staff and service vendors as required;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with all patient care areas within the health centre;
  • Champion new practices and programs to ensure staff compliance;
  • Represent the department on groups and committees affecting departmental operation and offer input on necessary modifications;
  • Provide input toward evaluation of services delivered by monitoring daily protocols and quality including physician feedback;
  • Perform regular analysis of workload and procedures, providing advice on required changes in consultation with DI management and medical lead;
  • Fulfill duties of a Nuclear Medicine technologist, including client history, explaining procedures, performing imaging, developing images, completing paperwork, and 5 hour weekday shifts plus 24/7 call coverage.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a recognized school of imaging technology;
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure with the NS College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCIMRTP);
  • Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS) Program within the last 12 months or successful completion of a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate;
  • Conflict resolution skills an asset;
  • Team building skills and experience working effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team an asset;
  • Familiarity with PACS and HIS/RIS system an asset;
  • Competency in a second language is an asset.
