Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Continuing Care Assistant to join our team at Dykeland Lodge. This is a permanent position with a competitive salary of approximately $44,000 per year.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience in providing patient care and support in a long-term care setting. As a Continuing Care Assistant, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to deliver high-quality care and services. Your strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will make you an excellent fit for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized patient care and support, including assisting with daily living activities, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Assist with meal preparation and serving, as well as cleaning and maintaining patient rooms.
  • Participate in recreational activities and outings with patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) or equivalent experience.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience working in a long-term care setting, preferably with elderly patients.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires standing, walking, and lifting. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and have excellent time management skills.
