Housekeeping & Laundry Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Housekeeper to join our Transitional Care Centre team in Bedford, Nova Scotia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing housekeeping, laundry, and basic maintenance functions in all areas of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Sweeps, dusts, and wet mops floors.
- Dusts, cleans, and polishes furniture, counters, shelving, walls, window/door ledges, and casings.
- Cleans sinks, toilets, and bath facilities using prescribed cleaning solutions.
- Ensures garbage and recycling are disposed of in proper locations.
- Buffs and auto scrubs floors using floor machines and cleaning solutions.
- Fills and replenishes supplies in patient rooms, nursing units, and rest rooms as required.
- Empties and cleans trash receptacles and places trash in compactor and/or trash pick-up area.
- Promotes a safety culture by continuously working safely.
- Ensures patient safety by following and applying all standard operational procedures.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- 1 year of environmental services experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Previous experience working in housekeeping and/or laundry and working in a long-term care environment.
- Demonstrated experience working and communicating with internal and external customers.
- High level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently.
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated responsible behavior and attention to detail.
