Job Title: Housekeeping & Laundry Aid

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeping & Laundry Aid to join our team at Shannex Incorporated. As a Housekeeping & Laundry Aid, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff.

About the Role:
  • Sweep, dust, and wet mop floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Dust, clean, and polish furniture, counters, shelving, walls, window/door ledges, and casings as described in the job routine.
  • Clean sinks, toilets, and bath facilities using prescribed cleaning solutions.
  • Ensure garbage and recycling are disposed of in the proper location.
  • Buff and auto-scrub floors using floor machines and cleaning solutions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Fills and replenishes supplies in patient rooms, nursing units, and rest rooms as required.
  • Empties and cleans trash receptacles and places trash in the compactor and/or trash pick-up area.
  • Assembles, moves, delivers, sets up, and picks up furniture, supplies, and equipment as required and in accordance with prescribed work schedules.
  • Promotes a safety culture by continuously working safely, identifying and reporting hazards, following safe work practices and procedures, wearing personal protective equipment, supporting others to work safely, and completing safety education.
  • Ensures patient safety by following and applying all standard operational procedures, safe work practices, and training provided.
About You:
  • 1 year of environmental services experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Previous experience working in housekeeping and/or laundry and working in a long-term care environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working and communicating with internal and external customers to meet their needs in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner.
  • High level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently; Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated responsible behavior and attention to detail.
  • Responds appropriately to supervision. Follows policies and cooperates with supervisors.
  • Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively. Listens to others and responds appropriately.
  • Asset: First Aid and CPR certification.
