Job Summary

Watson Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Assistant - Certified Float to join our team. As a Surgical Assistant - Certified Float, you will play a critical role in supporting our surgical team by providing exceptional patient care and assisting with various surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Operative Preparation: Assist in preparing the surgical site, including gathering necessary supplies and verifying patient identity.
  • Surgical Assistance: Provide aseptic technique, maintain sterility of supplies and trays, and protect the integrity of the sterile field.
  • Retraction and Exposure: Retract tissues as directed by the physician and maintain adequate exposure while ensuring patient safety.
  • Closure and Wound Care: Identify the correct suturing method, demonstrate competency in suturing and knot-tying, and coordinate with the surgeon to secure drainage devices.
  • Medical Office Duties: Summons patients for office visits, assists with medical procedures, administers medication, and documents patient information in the medical record.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of OR technology or RN.
  • Two years of experience in a surgical environment.
  • CST certification.
  • CPR certification within three months of employment.
  • Credentialing with LRH within six months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AORN guidelines and standards of care.
  • Knowledge of surgical site maintenance and aseptic technique.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
