About the Role

BBA is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineering Lead to join our team in Western Canada. As a key member of our mechanical engineering team, you will play a crucial role in all phases of engineering projects, from front-end studies to field implementation, with a focus on detailed engineering.

As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring technical quality, developing new business opportunities, and fostering team development. You will have the opportunity to develop mechanical scopes of work, budgets, and proposals, and perform high-level engineering on major mechanical packages.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and lead mechanical scopes of work, budgets, and proposals.
  2. Perform high-level engineering on major mechanical packages, including crushing and grinding circuits, flotation circuits, leaching circuits, and dewatering.
  3. Lead mechanical scope on conceptual design studies, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering.
  4. Be a key team member for small to major brownfield/greenfield mining projects.
  5. Participate in site visits, inspections, condition assessments, commissioning, and testing.
  6. Provide mentorship and coaching of junior/intermediate engineers, actively sharing knowledge and supporting the enhancement of skills within the team.
Requirements
  1. Proven track record with strong technical skills as a Mechanical Engineer on mineral process plant projects.
  2. Experience in base and precious metals is an asset.
  3. Ability to interpret PFDs and process design criteria from process engineering, oversee plant layouts, mechanical equipment selection, technical bid evaluation and validation, and pump sizing.
  4. University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  5. 12+ years of relevant engineering experience in the mining sector, with a preference for 5+ years in consulting.
  6. Must be a registered P.Eng in Canada.
  7. Valid driver's license.
  8. Available for site work and short-term assignments.
