Position Overview:
This role is a crucial part of the research and development team at Riverside Natural Foods, a leading manufacturer of organic and nutritious snacks.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of new products, improving existing ones, and maintaining the company's high standards of quality.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the management of competitor samples and inventory, and host tastings to analyze new and existing products.
  • Support the organization of the R&D lab, ensuring it is stocked and tidy, and develop Standard Operating Procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with the lab technician to conduct analytical measurements as part of the shelf-life program.
  • Work with the innovation team to evaluate and source new equipment and develop new products.
  • Run trials in collaboration with team members on different formulations, technologies, or processing conditions, and determine whether they have been successful based on the analytics.
  • Produce product prototypes in the lab for sensory evaluation.
  • Assist R&D team members with data collection required to commission and renovate production lines, and engage all stakeholders throughout the project.



Requirements:


  • Current enrollment in a degree program in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with operations, other departments, and management.
  • Desire for career growth and personal skill development.
