Altus is seeking a highly skilled Cost Consultant to spearhead the end-to-end estimation process for high-profile, complex construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will consult with internal and external experts, review Class D to Class A estimates, and determine the feasibility of builds based on budget, estimated costs, and alignment.
About YouWe are looking for a Cost Estimator or Quantity Surveyor with a strong understanding of architectural, structural, civil, financial, and business needs. You should be able to thrive in a bridge role between client and service provider, requirements, and deliverables. Your level-headed and detail-oriented approach will enable you to solve issues before they arise and build connections with colleagues and clients to gain their trust.

Key Responsibilities- Provide a full range of cost estimating services to new and existing clients, including developing a deep understanding of client requirements, reviewing contract documentation, conducting needs analysis, and maintaining ongoing client communication.
- Prepare estimates at various stages, from conceptual design to the pre-tender stage, including completing design efficiency analysis, full trade and elemental take-off, pricing estimates, and tender analysis.
- Manage relationships with clients, internal and external partners, and stakeholders, nurturing communications, sharing knowledge and insights, and leading to contract renewal, referrals, and service expansion.
- Education: Degree or diploma in Architecture, Construction, or Civil Technology, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 3 years of experience in estimating/quantity surveying, with a senior-level understanding of construction estimates, contracting, procurement, and scheduling for commercial development projects.
- Technology skills: Highly proficient with Sharepoint and MS Office, including Project, and ideally hands-on exposure to CostX.
- Relationship building: Ability to build and foster relationships with internal and client stakeholders across all levels of construction projects.
- Communication style: Outstanding communicator who can clarify ambiguities and present information in a structured and understandable way.
- Results-oriented focus: Ability to anticipate, understand, and respond to client needs, driven to meet or exceed expectations, and innovate solutions to keep the project and business moving forward.
